The purpose of the Mifflin Township Historical Society is to collect, preserve and identify items that are of historical significance to the community. As the keepers of the local history, it is our responsibility to make this information available to the public and preserve it for future generations.
One of only seven original townships that came to form Allegheny County in 1788, Mifflin Township was comprised of the modern day communities of Whitaker, West Mifflin, West Homestead, West Elizabeth, Pleasant Hills, Munhall, Lincoln Place, Jefferson Hills, Homestead, Hays, Duquesne, Dravosburg, Clairton and part of Baldwin.
We are able to keep the community and our members informed of our ongoing functions and events through our monthly newsletter "Portal to the Past".
