Explore local county orphans homes and what happens to children today. 3. Identify local regiments and map their troop movements using the National Historic Official Reports "War of the Rebellion" 4. Calculate the numbers of miles the troops would move in a day, week, and month.

You may wish to specifically ask to see Amos Humiston memorial–an engraved plaque of Humiston and his children–located at the park. According to Dunkelman in his book Gettysburg's Unknown Soldier, it is the only memorial of an individual enlisted man on the Gettysburg battlefield. If you are unable to travel, you may wish to look into the park's "Traveling Trunk" or their Distance Learning programs.
