1. Read excerpts from other Revolutionary War era diaries, including Private Yankee Doodle, and The Diary of Elizabeth Drinker in order to understand different historical perspectives. 2. Role play several scenes from Sally Wister's Journal. 3. Take tea together! 4. Outline each child using butcher paper. Using the clothing descriptions in Sally Wister's Journal, draw a costume on each outline. Children may want to be American officers, British soldiers, or Quakers. Display the art work in the classroom for all to enjoy.
