First organized in November 1873, the 110th Regiment of the Pennsylvania National Guard's 28th Infantry Division landed in Normandy and then fought its way across France and Belgium into Germany. The 110th lost more than 2,700 men during three days of intense fighting during the Battle of the Bulge, and a month later was back in action. During World War II, the 110th added five campaign streamers added to its Regimental colors, for Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe.
