Excavators stand around a unearthed mass grave.

After five years of searching Frank and William Watson and researchers from Immaculata University in 2009 found the remains of five of fifty seven Irishmen who died at Duffy's Cut in 1832. The skulls of two showed evidence of blunt force trauma, which raised questions about causes of death other than cholera.
