Known as the "Apostle of Presbyterianism in the West," John McMillan was instrumental in the spread of Presbyterianism to the frontier of Pennsylvania. Following his ordination in 1774, Rev. McMillan ventured into western Pennsylvania and established the institutions that became Washington and Jefferson College.
