If touring the many historical sites of Brandywine Country is your pleasure, then don't miss Historic Waynesborough. This house museum is a National Historic Landmark and a true representation of the living history that has survived for centuries in Brandywine Country. Waynesborough is the home of Revolutionary General Anthony Wayne, referred to by Theodore Roosevelt as one of the greatest fighting generals in American History.

Visitors to Historic Waynesborough will be taken on a guided tour of the Georgian manor that was home to seven generations of Waynes from 1724 to 1765. The fascinating history is explained in great detail by dedicated volunteers. The rooms contain a fascinating collection of historic objects that belonged to Wayne and his family, including, for example, a copy of the General's own map from the Paoli Massacre. The rooms, also furnished with pieces from the 18th and early 19th centuries, have been preserved by the Philadelphia Society for the Preservation of Landmarks, and the support of the Anthony Wayne Foundation and the Friends of Anthony Wayne Foundation.
