Assessment Strategies
In this lesson students are asked to identify the uses and importance of green spaces, create their own city beautiful project, make persuasive points to convince "council" to fund their city beautiful project, and compare and contrast their civic improvement presentation with the campaigning efforts of Mira Lloyd Dock during the early 1900s. Students will be assessed by teacher observation, peer assessment (peers vote as council members for an outstanding project), and the general assessment rubric below. This rubric measures the quality of group work, class discussion, and completion of student worksheets.
