Company Row, by Alan Thompson, 1941.

Oil on canvas of a bird's eye view of the snow-covered countryside that stretches off into the distance. In the foreground is the small company town that has a variety of old homes lining both sides of the street. A tree, leafless and missing most of its branches, has black birds perching in the remaining limbs. On the far hillside, one can see a coal mine, a small country church, and cemetery.
