In 1842, Moses Thompson moved into the Centre Furnace mansion as resident ironmaster, along with his wife Mary, and their two children. Moses and Mary had six children who grew to adulthood in the mansion. In addition, the Thompsons had live-in servants and boarders from the furnace in the Mansion
