Two Grumman Hellcats in flight.

In 1942, the Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corporation developed the Hellcat fighter plane to counter the Japanese Zero. Well designed, and using precision parts manufactured by Lavelle and other companies, Hellcats were superb fighters, destroying more than 5,160 enemy aircraft during World War II.
