Pennsylvania Long Rifles frequently customized by their owners; with many Indians favoring such enhancements as brass tacks for decoration. With or without added adornment, long rifles could be extremely accurate. During the 1778 Shawnee-British siege of Boonesbourgh, Kentucky, Pennsylvanian Daniel Boone killed a British officer with a bullet to the forehead at 250 yards.
