Famous bombsight, known as "Mickey" on display

In 1944, the Philco Corporation began production of H2X radar systems, which provided U. S. bombers the ability to navigate through cloud-covered skies and during nighttime operations. Used in conjunction with the Norden bombsight, which its makers boasted could drop bombs into pickle barrels, the Mickey set, as it became known, gave American bombers unprecedented capabilities.
