Lyon, Shorb and Company album page. The photographs depict the owners and employees of the company. On this page six facsimile representative carte-de-visites are presented. Lyon, Shorb and Company was an iron rolling mill, located on the south side of the Monongahela River opposite Pittsburgh's Market Street. Sometime between 1862 and 1867 the management of Lyon, Shorb and Company commissioned R. M. Cargo, a Pittsburgh photographer, to compile an album of all employees. Of 282 carte-de-visite photographs approximately 250 were made by Cargo.
