Known as the "Black Babe Ruth," Josh Gibson (1911-1947) played professionally for the Homestead Grays (1929-31, 1937-40, 1942-46), and for the Pittsburgh Crawfords from 1932-36. In 1972 he became the second Negro League player elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
