From June 28-30, Confederate General Albert Jenkins used the Rupp House as his headquarters while his brigade skirmished with Union militia manning the Harrisburg defenses. Located on the Trindle Road just east of Mechanicsburg, this stone house was centrally located for Jenkins, whose troops deployed from the Carlisle Pike south to Peace Church on the Trindle Road.
