On June 25, 2005, the Camp Curtin Historical Society dedicated this monument to General Albert G. Jenkins and his Confederate cavalry. Jenkins, a plantation slave-owner and former Congressman from Virginia, would die after amputation of his arm in May 1864. Designed by noted Civil War artist Gary Casteel, the ten-foot obelisk is located beside the Rupp House.
