One of the great comics of the 20th century, W. C. Fields delighted audiences during the Great Depression with portrayals of old-fashioned flim flam artists, henpecked husbands, and other outsiders victimized by the forces of modern life. In 1933, Fields stole the show as Professor Henry R. Quail, in International House, a Paramount Picture's all star revue that also included Rudy Vallee, Burns and Allen, Bela Lugosi, Sterling Holloway, and bandleader Cab Calloway.
