Interior of the old Pennsylvania Railroad freight depot after it had been transformed into a makeshift tabernacle for Moody and Sankey. Between November 21, 1875 and February 4, 1876, more than a million people attended Moody and Sankey’s services, an average of more than 22,000 people a day. After conclusion of the Moody and Sankey revival, Wanamaker razed the freight depot and there constructed his new Grand Depot department store on its site at the corner of Market and 13th streets.
