Antiwar demonstrators march from Old Main to the Ordnance Research Laboratory, Penn State University, 1970.

In the 1960s, antiwar protests at Penn State focused on the Ordnance Research Laboratory, where researchers conducted weapons research funded by the Navy. Following these protests, trustees voted to change the name to the Applied Research Laboratory, still the designated location for classified research on campus.
