"The man before the desk works with his hands and is paid by his labor. The man behind the desk works with his head and is paid for his knowledge. It is merely a question of KNOWING HOW." Offering mail order instruction in everything from Show Card Writer and Window Trimmer to Chemist, and Mining Engineer, Scranton's International Correspondence Schools was the nation's largest provider of distance education.
