This "Perfected Sholes and Glidden," typing machine, also offered for sale as the Remington 1, was the last in the series of six basic models. Since Remington used a design engineer from their sewing machine division, the early Sholes-Glidden typewriters would soon be recognizable by their heavy decoration and ornate gold paint.
