Born and raised in Philadelphia, Herb Adderley was one of a number of Wissachickon Boys Club members, including Harlem Globetrotter Frank Washington, to excel in sports. A star athlete at Northeast High School, Adderley played college ball at Michigan State University, then spent twelve years in the NFL. One of only three players in pro football history to play on six World Championship teams, Adderley was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1980.
