On September 24, 1932 "Wild Bill" Cummings won a 50-miler before a huge crowd of "Langhorners." Cummings and his single-seat Boyle Valve Miller Special took the checkered flag from honorary starter Barney Oldfield, with official flagman Doc Gerner (far left) looking on.
