On March 1, 1934, Tommy Loughran fought heavyweight champion Primo Carnera, nicknamed "The Ambling Alp." Loughran was six inches shorter and 84 pounds lighter than the massive Italian, but took the fight the limit, losing by decision after fifteen rounds.
