In 1941, Milton Hershey hired Ben Hogan(1912-1997) to be the golf pro at the Hershey Country Club, which he had opened in 1930, and gave him a contract unique in golf. Hogan's only responsibility was to compete in tournaments around the country as Hershey's representative and to permit the company to use his name and picture in advertising. The deal worked well for both parties. Hogan won three of his four U.S. Open victories during the ten years he was employed by Hershey.
