Between 1970 and 2000, Three Rivers Stadium was home to both the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Three Rivers, like Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia, was one of a number of cavernous multi-purpose stadiums built in the late 1900s that have since been replaced by facilities tailored for specific sports.
