There are four Pennsylvania State Maps and two legends in this image.  The legend for these maps breaks down numbers and types of furnaces by using color coded circles: Charcoal, Anthracite or coke, Rolling Mill, Bessemer Converter, Open Hearth, and Electric or Crucible. In the left bottom section of this image are two maps. [18th Century, marking charcoal furnace production with hollow circles and 1900 based on tons of production. To the right are two color coded maps, 1860 and 1941, both based on number of employees.
