Frederick Winslow Taylor conducted the studies that earned him his title as "The Father of Scientific Management" at steel mills in Philadelphia and Bethlehem, PA. Convinced that his "principles are certain to come into general use practically throughout the civilized world," he published The Principles of Scientific Management, in 1911. Soon, business schools across the nation were including scientific management as a foundation of their curriculum.
