Looking past the statue of Major General George Gordon Meade on Cemetery Ridge, the Pennsylvania Memorial, dedicated in 1910, stands as a testament to the Pennsylvanians who served at Gettysburg. The bronze plaques around the base of the 69-foot-high memorial contain the names of more than 34,500 Pennsylvania soldiers who fought there.
