Benjamin Franklin, by an unidentified painter, after Charles Nicolas Cochin's drawing or the engraving from it by Augustin de Saint Aubin, circa 1777-1780. The earliest of the many French portraits of Franklin was a drawing by Charles Nicolas Cochin. An engraving from it by Augustin de Saint Aubin was published in July, 1777.
