In October of 1786, Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice McKean presided over the trial which awarded George Washington title to his lands in western Pennsylvania. Instead of accepting the verdict and agreeing to pay future rent, all of Washington's squatters abandoned their homes and moved away.
