This black-and-white photograph was taken by Griffith Teller in preparation of his artwork entitled Pittsburgh Promotes Progress. Teller's resulting artwork, one of many used by the Pennsylvania Railroad as calendar art to promote the company, shows PRR's important role as freight transportation in the industrialized city of Pittsburgh.
