The son of a steel worker, Stan Musial was one of four Major League ballplayers to come from the town of Donora, Pennsylvania. When he retired in 1963, Musial ranked near or at the top of almost every batting category. In this 1963 photo Musial celebrates tying Babe Ruth's extra base hit record.
