In the early 1900s Milton Hershey built a state-of-the-art chocolate factory on a farm field in rural Dauphin County that soon became the nation's largest producer of milk chocolate and cocoa. The enormous success of the chocolate almond bar and bited sized "Hershey Kiss," introduced in 1907, enabled Hershey to surpass $2 million in sales by 1910.
