The Chadds Ford Historical Society is a private nonprofit organization. It owns, operates, and maintains two 18th century restorations - the John Chadds House and the Barns-Brinton House. The historical society focuses on the 18th century history of Chadds Ford and includes tours of two historic homes/museums. Special events are offered throughout the year. These historic house museums are open to the public on weekends May through September, 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. and for group tours by appointment. Educational programs for schoolchildren are held at the Barns-Brinton House during the months of September, October, November, March, April, May, and June. Events hosted by the Society include Chadds Ford Days, The Great Pumpkin Event, The Golf Outing, The Antique and Classic Car Show, Candlelight Christmas, plus many activities.
