Traveling through the heart of the elk range, Route 555 from Weedville to Driftwood provides great opportunities to see elk close to the road. The road follows the scenic Bennett's Branch of the Sinnemahoning Creek. It passes through towns including Caledonia, Medix Run, Benezette and Dents Run. Drive carefully on this section of road and do not park or stop on the roadway if you encounter elk. Other wildlife to look for includes white-tailed deer, black bear, coyote and bobcat. For those Tom Mix fans, his birthplace is not far from the village of Driftwood.
