This National Historic Landmark is the only surviving 18th century mansion house and garden in Allegheny County. For nearly 200 years, Woodville was cared for by four families related by marriage. In 1973 the last occupant of Woodville died and it stood deserted. The Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation purchased the house in 1976 and sought means to save it from demolition. Because of the ongoing restoration work, the Pittsburgh area has this valuable link with 18th and 19th century life and architecture. It is currently owned by the Neville House Association.
