Baseball Cards
Extensions

The students will design and create their own baseball cards, including their personal statistics (favorite book, what they like best about school, what they want to be when they grow up, etc.). Refer to KidStats-Player Cards to view real baseball cards.

The students will read and learn about other baseball players. Then they will write about and report on a player's biography. They will present the player's biography on a baseball card.

The students will use baseball cards in math to teach such concepts as averages (batting averages) and adding and subtracting (card values and trading).

The students will create an advertisement encouraging children to buy baseball cards. They will present their advertisement using a TV commercial format, radio show, or billboard sign.
