Warner Brothers" acquisition of the Stanley theater chains more than 200 theaters catapulted it into top five of Hollywood film makers. In 1931, Warner opened four new Art Deco motion picture palaces, including the luxurious 2,506-seat Warner theater in Erie. Sold to the City of Erie in 1976, the theatre has undergone a multi-million dollar renovation to convert it into a regional performing arts center.
