Few American families have better exemplified the American inventive spirit than the Sellers of Delaware County, Pa. Successive generations of Sellers were among the engineers, mechanics, and scientists who help transform Pennsylvania and the nation from an agrarian into an industrial society. Original land holders from William Penn, brothers Samuel and George Sellers came to Pennsylvania in the early 1680s, and built Sellers Hall, the family home, which still stands on the grounds of St. Alice Parish, in Upper Darby.
