Sheet Music for <i>Narcissus,</i> by Ethelbert Nevin, The Boston Music Company.

Ethelbert Nevin made a small fortune from sales of his sheet music, but this income was insufficient to support his lavish lifestyle. After Nevin's death, his widow would join with John Philip Sousa to lobby Congress for a copyright law to protect the intellectual property rights of her husband and other American composers.
