King George 1 peace medal, circa 1725.

A State Museum archaeology team found this peace medal at the Conestoga Indian Town site in 1972.  The front side features a bust of King George I and the inscription:"GeorgeKing of Great Britain."  The reverse side depicts an archer holding a bow in one hand, an arrow in the other, and looking at a deer.

A Pennsylvania State Museum archaeology team found one of these peace medals at the Conestoga Indian Town site in 1972. The front side features a bust of King George I and the inscription: "George King of Great Britain." The reverse side depicts an archer looking at a deer and holding a bow in one hand and an arrow in the other. George I was King of England from 1714 until his death in 1727.
