A seventeenth-century engraving of a Susquehannock Indian, based on Captain John Smith's description.  According to Smith, the Susquehannocks were a "gyant-like people" who dressed in wolf and bear skins and could "beat out the braines of a man" with their clubs

According to Captain John Smith, the Susquehannocks were a "gyant-like people" who dressed in wolf and bear skins and could "beat out the braines of a man" with their clubs. In the 1600s an artist created an engraving of a Susquehannock Indian, based on Smith's description.
