Dedication of the monument that marks the graves of the two Confederate soldiers killed on June 29, 1863. The ceremony was held in 1929.

On June 29, 1863, two Confederate cavalrymen were killed during a skirmish with a company of the 1st New York Cavalry at McConnellsburg. This 1929 photograph shows the Daughters of the Confederacy dedicating the granite monument they placed over the graves of William B. Moore and Thomas Shelton, the two men killed that day.
