In the early 1900s Broadway musicals often performed in Philadelphia to work out the bugs before opening on the Great White Way. In this photo from 1932, the cast and chorus of Music in the Air depart from Penn Station for the show's premiere at the Garrick Theatre. They were accompanied by Oscar Hammerstein 2nd and Jerome Kern, wrote the book, music and lyrics for the operetta.
