Railroad worker who lost his legs, in switch room

Successfully blocking unionization of their workforces, railroads could be as cold hearted as any big industrial enterprise. Adopting a philosophy of corporate paternalism, they did, however, provide jobs for some injured on the job, including this switch tower operator.
