In the Harmonists’ three American settlements, George Rapp always had an ornate botanical garden and a central pavilion. The original pavilion at Economy, capped by a copper dome, covered a wooden statue carved by Philadelphia sculptor William Rush in 1824. The current stature and pavilion, pictured here, are reproductions installed in the 1960s.
