Opened in 1821, the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy advocated more rigorous standards for dispensing medicines in the treatment of disease and illnesses. This cover of the College's annual announcement, showing the façade of the 1868 college building on Tenth Street, makes the college look smaller than it actually was. The college had larger facilities in the back.
