In February, 1938, Governor George Earle traveled to Scranton, where the Glenalden Coal Co. had ordered workers to vacate company-owned houses that it intended to raze. Here, Earle visits with coal workers Secunda Barlow and Charles Gibbs (on crutches), who had already received their eviction notices.
